BP Keeps Lid on Oil Spill as Storm Threatens Area - Wall Street Journal

BP PLC on Thursday said oil was still being contained at its damaged well in the Gulf of Mexico, even as forecasts indicated a storm could interrupt the work of spill responders.

The company said on its website that it was continuing tests on a recently installed containment system that has been sealing the Deepwater Horizon well since last week and that pressure in the reservoir has been increasing slowly.

The Associated Press reported early Thursday that responders were preparing to evacuate the area, but BP didn't respond to requests for comment.
