TOKYO (Dow Jones)--Crude oil futures prices edged lower Friday in lackluster Asian trading as the market awaited U.S. nonfarm payrolls data, due later in the day, with analysts mostly forecasting weak numbers.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, light, sweet crude futures for delivery in July traded at $99.81 a barrel at 0721 GMT, down $0.59 in the Globex electronic session. July Brent crude on London's ICE Futures exchange fell $0.55 to $114.99 a barrel. ... The SEC is investigating some accounting firms over their audits of Chinese companies whose shares trade in the U.S., and the inquiry is expected to lead to enforcement cases, people familiar with the situation said.
