Wednesday morning in New York, light, sweet crude for March delivery recently traded 86 cents higher, or 1.1%, at $79.72 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange traded 66 cents higher at $77.91 a barrel.
